I would love this Dean. I know you’ve been dreaming about this for a long time. It’s not a cliche when we say “I don’t want to be a burden on my family”. It’s incredibly stressful to be a caregiver. Been there, done that. (Not sure it was on my bucket list!”
Count me in. I’m not sure just how at my age and with my situation, but you’re creating what I’ve always wanted and what I thought I would be getting by moving to a CCRC.
Lately, I’ve been writing about Brookdale, hoping to nudge that mega-corporation away from shareholder avarice and toward shareholder value. It strikes me that what you’re creating with Roines is exactly the paradigm lab community that Brookdale should be, could be, and might one day be pioneering.
The opportunity is vast to improve living generally in America, of course for old people, but also for everyone. Better living for all is something that Americans are yearning for.
Congratulations. Watch Senior Living Foresight for the Brookdale series as it emerges. A reverse merger might be a good idea to unlock value and improve life for all Americans.
Thanks, Jack. I agree. We are trying to open a new window into people's thinking about aging and senior living. I wouldn't be surprised if the end result may not look exactly like we envision, but the bigger point is to give people the idea that something much different (and better) can, will be, and should be out there. If we can envision it, then it can happen.
Yes! This is the type of community I have wanted. When I first started looking to purchase a home I looked in "intentional communities" and co-housing, but couldn't find anything affordable in my area. I want to live amongst all types of people, all ages, races, religions, political views.
The affordability will be an important aspect here Dean. Share the care is a part of it - watching to see how this evolves.

LZB, You and many others! That is why we have put together a plan to do this.
Where are you located?
And thanks for writing!
Sounds like you have defined and described what I have been visualizing. Thank you. Count me in.
Thank you for writing Neelam.
